Ways To Give

HOW CAN I MAKE MY GIFT?

Saint Saviour Catholic Academy is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with the Federal EIN#: 46-0557485. There are many ways that you can support SSCA, and many ways to give to our school. For more information, please contact Althea Alvarez, Director of Marketing and Development.

Online Giving: Make a gift online today by visiting our online giving page! You can make a one time gift or a recurring gift of any size.

Gifts of Cash: Gifts of cash (checks) are the easiest and most direct way to give to SSCA and are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law. These gifts can be mailed directly to SSCA, addressed to Althea Alvarez, Director of Marketing and Development, at 701 8th Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11215.

Multi-Year Pledges: Pledges made over multiple years encourage donors to consider more substantial commitments than are possible with one-time gifts. Donors who pledge may determine pledge remittance schedules to meet their own charitable or tax needs. Pledges may be paid through any of the methods outlined on this page. Pledges are not legally binding. All gifts are tax-deductible to the extent provided by the law.

IRA Charitable Roll Over: Individuals 72 ½ years old or above with an IRA account can give up to $100,000/year from their IRA directly without having to pay income taxes on the distribution.

Gifts of Securities: Securities can be an attractive asset to contribute to SSCA. Donors who give appreciated stock will usually avoid capital gains tax on the stock’s appreciation and will receive a charitable deduction based on market value on the date the stock is received. Appreciated gifts of stock must be held more than 12 months to qualify for long-term capital gains.

Planned Giving: By including SSCA in your estate plan, you can create a legacy that will ensure SSCA’s place as a leader and innovator for generations to come. Examples of planned giving instruments include bequests, qualified charitable distribution (QCD), IRAs and retirement plans, life insurance policies, and commercial annuities. We highly recommend consulting your financial planner to determine the best course of action when considering a planned gift.

Gifts in Kind: A gift in kind donation, also known as an in-kind donation, is a non-cash donation of goods or services to a nonprofit organization.

Matching Gifts: Many companies offer a matching gift program for their employees and retirees who make charitable contributions. Some gifts can be doubled or even tripled. We suggest consulting your HR department to inquire about their matching gift policy and if it may support our school’s needs.

Inspire Others to Give: Interested in leveraging your contribution to motivate other giving? You can make a challenge gift to the school that will incentivize other donors to make a gift! Examples of challenge gifts include matching every gift that is made to SSCA up to a certain value, or for a particular length of time, or making a gift that unlocks at full value when a certain threshold of gifts has been reached.
