Soles for Souls Collection

Saint Saviour Catholic Academy will again be collecting new / lightly used shoes to support those in developing countries across the world until school lets out.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of our families, faculty and aligned parishes, we collected over 200 pairs of shoes last year!

Please see details from the Soles4Souls website:

Soles4Souls disrupts the cycle of poverty by creating sustainable jobs and providing relief through the distribution of shoes and clothing around the world.

Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, the organization repurposes product to supply its micro-enterprise, disaster relief and direct assistance programs. Since 2006, it has distributed more than 35 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes in 127 countries. A nonprofit social enterprise, Soles4Souls earns more than half of its income and commits 100% of donations to programs. Soles4Souls holds a four-star rating with Charity Navigator and a Platinum Seal of Transparency with Guidestar.

Soles4Souls provides both short-term relief and long-term solutions to global poverty. Visit online at soles4souls.org

Short-term relief-free shoe and clothing distribution: Everyday, people are exposed to life threatening diseases, children are prevented from attending school, adults are unable to work, because they lack adequate clothing and footwear. New shoes and clothing provides relief to people living in extreme poverty in developing nations, in times of disaster, and helps bridge the economic gap in the United States and Canada.

Long-term solutions-job creation (micro-enterprise): Soles4Souls’ micro-enterprise model provides people living in deep poverty in developing nations the opportunity to start and sustain small businesses selling shoes. Donated new and gently-worn shoes act as a resource to help entrepreneurs generate income to provide for themselves and their families.

Containers will be posted in the rear of the After School area for donations. Please pair the shoes and secure them together before donating. Thank you!

Amazon Smile is Increasing the Donation Rate This Week

Each month we receive donations through Smile.amazon.com – an easy way for anyone to contribute to Saint Saviour. This week, Amazon is increasing it’s donation rate tenfold from 0.5% to 5% of the price of your eligible purchases to our Academy when you shop at smile.amazon.com/ch/46-0557485.

AmazonSmile is the same Amazon you know with the added benefit of supporting charitable organizations.  Check out AmazonSmile Settings for Your Devices for steps on how to setup your computer browser or mobile device, and thank you for thinking of Saint Saviour!

Catholic Schools Week – Thank you!

Thank you to all volunteers, students and faculty that helped make Catholic Schools Week at Saint Saviour a success!

Each day this year focused on a different theme about what makes Catholic Schools unique.

Below is a letter from the Food Pantry Coordinator at Holy Family – Saint Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church thanking us for the food the school donated last week.

The flag in front of the lobby is another Catholic Schools Week Project – each individual ribbon contains a prayer for our nation written by students here at Saint Saviour.
